"In fact, I booked Centara Reserve to do yoga as an activity in Koh Samui. So I tried to book an activity as soon as I checked in, but I was told that it was already fully booked until the next day.
So I can’t do yoga? I was wondering if my Koh Samui yoga was going "to waste" like this. How many people are staying at the resort? I was momentarily upset that the number of people allowed to participate in the activity was small despite it being such a large resort, but I searched for nearby yoga classes on Google Maps.
Fortunately, there was a yoga class not far away. I quickly made a reservation through Instagram DM and visited. Tak Yoga is a one-person shop run by Teacher Tak alone, so the schedule was flexible. Please refer to the announcement as it is posted on her website and Instagram.
I arrived about 10 minutes earlier than scheduled. Teacher Tak welcomed us warmly and told us about the world of married couples, a Korean drama she had enjoyed watching. She told me a lot of things that local people might know, such as how many dengue fever mosquitoes there are these days.
The Tak yoga studio was large enough for about 6 people, including the teacher, to have a mat. Because the space was limited in size, people who visited without a reservation had to turn away. There were more people who had made reservations than expected, so we made some concessions to each other to share.
Except for Teacher Tak and me, everyone was Westerner. At first, I wondered if they had come because of the mystique of yoga, but as I spent time with them, I could see that they were all people who enjoyed yoga, including those who did it as a hobby.
A memorable moment was when Teacher Tak asked us to do the butterfly pose and say butterfly in our own language: Butterfly. The Korean language is really pretty.
An hour of hatha yoga with teacher Tak passed regretfully very quickly . The cost was 300 baht (about 12,000 won) per class. In this way, I made another memory as a yogini!"
